High Knob Hellbender 10k

Race registration and the starting line will be located in the City of Norton’s Expo Center, 115 8th St. SW, Norton, VA 24273. There will be parking at the starting line. Free shuttle transportation will be provided runners needing a ride back to their cars from the finish line.

Driving Directions to the Hellbender 10K

From the Tri-Cities: Travel US-23 north from Kingsport past Duffield and Big Stone Gap to the City of Norton. Take Exit 1 in Norton and turn left at the bottom of the ramp. Turn left at the first traffic light onto 11th Street. At the next traffic light (next to the Hampton Inn & Suites), turn right onto Park Avenue and travel just under 0.5 miles to the City Municipal Lot, located on the right just before DoughMakers Pizza.

From Abingdon: Travel US-19 north from Abingdon to Hansonville and turn left (west) onto US-58 Alt. Travel US 58 Alt approximately 36 miles from Hansonville, passing St. Paul and Coeburn, to downtown Norton. (Note: do not take either exit for US-23 once arriving in Norton and instead continue straight onto Park Avenue towards downtown.) The City Municipal Lot will be located in the center of downtown on the left, just past DoughMakers Pizza. 

From Kentucky: Travel US-23 south, passing into Virginia at Pound Gap atop Pine Mountain, towards Norton. Travel approximately 17.5 miles from the state line on US-23 to Exit 1 in the City of Norton. Bear right at the bottom of the ramp onto Park Avenue and continue into downtown, where the City Municipal Lot will be located on the left, just past DoughMakers Pizza.
